Three nursing homes in Tennessee’s biggest city, Memphis, are rated five stars overall by Medicare, as of this writing. That’s the most of any city in the state … except Elizabethton. This small town of about 14,000 people also boasts three five-star-rated nursing homes. Overall, the state’s ratings are average for the Southeast: Fifteen percent of its nursing homes have five stars in the “overall” category.
