Retirement Communities
From bustling apartment complexes to lavish gated neighborhoods, retirement communities fit many budgets and interests. And today, they’re not centralized in certain areas of the country. They’re all over.
When you call us at SeniorCare.com, we want to understand what you envision for your new home. Not sure how to decide? That’s OK. We know what to ask.
How to Choose a Retirement Community
For one thing, you’ll want to consider what type of housing you want—and what fits into your budget. Would you prefer an apartment? A condo? A house?
Also, where do you want to live? Is it important to you to stay near friends or family, or would you like to try another state? (Like other types of housing, prices for retirement communities depend in part on location.)
What types of activities would you like to see? What amenities are important to you? A pool? A tennis court? A few retirement communities are even centered around common interests. For example, some are associated with universities. You can take classes and celebrate your favorite sports team.
One type of community, called a continuing care retirement community, includes independent living, assisted living and a nursing home—all on the same campus. Generally CCRCs, as they’re called, have high entry fees, but they may allow you to transfer to a higher level of care for little to no additional cost. If this sounds interesting, just ask about it when you contact us.
